The Public Office was a two–day exhibition in the form of a workshop that took place at the Earls Court GC Expo 2007.

During this unique exhibition, public service leaders came together to consider what public services would be like if there were designed with and for the people who use them; how they can create better public services through public insight.

Entering the space, the participants would step into the living rooms of five families and would watch their story on their sofa. They would then discover statistics supporting the stories they heard and would move on to study examples of what is already out there. Having been inspired they would brainstorm to propose solutions and new ways of working that will better support the five families.

The audience could view their ideas and contribute their vote for the proposal they would find to be most successful.

The exhibition was a huge success and was visited by top government officials and leading representatives from industry. We continue to work with Kable to produce further instantiations of The Public Office.
